Celebrated Ugandan musician Jackie Chandiru, who has been off the music radar for some time due to personal challenges is back with a huge bang!
Word coming in from our Moles in the music industry indicate that Chandiru has been very busy in studio lately and she is already releasing new hits.
Her latest new release is a collabo titled ‘Nitakufinya’, which she recorded with Kenyan artiste Kelechi Africana.
Chandiru and Kelechi’s song is already doing rounds on airwaves across the East African region and beyond.
We have also learnt that Chandiru and Kelechi are working on shooting a video for the audio which will be outed in a few months’ time.
Chandiru, who became popular for her songs like; ‘Agasi’, ‘Gold Digger’, ‘Mutima Gwange and others, has literally resurrected after being in ‘music limbo’ since 2019 when she battled severe health issues that resulted from depression, which dealt a huge blow to her music career.
However, following the immense support that was extended to the singer both from family and friends, Chandiru is back onto her feet and ready to make it big again.
Chandiru is a Ugandan musician popularly known by the polynym “Queen Of The Nile” .
She was the lead member of the girl music group Blu*3, based in Kampala, Uganda’s capital and largest city.
In 2014, she was one of the featured artists in the second season of “Coke Studio Africa”.
However, in 2017 she suffered severe depressions that saw her hospitalized for the biggest part of 2018 and 2019, although she has since fully recovered and regained her groove back.
Meanwhile, Kelechi is a former primary teacher who quit teaching to join music and he became famously known for his hit ‘Ring’, although he has recorded other hits, among them ‘Nimechoka’
