Yesterday, NBS news anchor Canary Mugume was officially introduced by his fiance, now wife, Sasha Ferguson at her parents’ home in Kampala. The couple got engaged last month, April, on the 29th and have wasted no time to take things to the next level, having dated for years prior to this.
The introduction ceremony was attended by Sasha and Mugume’s friends and colleagues, including veteran journalist, “the old man of the clan”, Andrew Mwenda and his sister, Margaret Muhanga, the newly sworn-in Member of Parliament for Fort Portal North Constituency.
When the youthful news anchor shred photo on his Twitter account after the ceremony late last night, Makerere Community Church leader Pastor Martin Ssempa, who in one way or another manages to give an opinion about anything and everything, offered to give some training about sex and money matters in marriage to the newlyweds. We are yet to find out why he thought Mugume would need sex training.
“We are super happy for you. Marriage is the best. I would love to talk with you about a 10-subject training for your marriage life from money matters to sex matters. DM me,” Ssempa offered.
To this, Mugume politely declined, replying, “Life’s the best teacher. But thank you.”
Pastor Martin Ssempa, who has been married for over 29 years is a big proponent of marriage that is between man and woman and is strongly against homosexuality.
