Whereas several Ugandans are languishing from the aftermath of the COVID-19 lockdown on the country’s economy, a number of musicians are smiling all the way to the bank after they reportedly received millions of shillings from the Gen. Salim Saleh led Operation Wealth Creation (OWC).

Vinka is said to be one of the beneficiaries of the COVID-19 relief fund for musicians

This website has established that several musicians under their umbrella body United Music Superstars Association  which is led by Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone, received over Shs900Bn  from OWC as part of government funds aimed at helping them cope up with the impact of COVID-19 on their  sources of livelihood.

We have since learnt that according to the proposal that was handed to Gen. Saleh, the musicians are to receive the  money as follows;

Jose Chameleone: Shs800M

David Lutalo   : Shs420M

Pallaso        : Shs821M

King Saha      : Shs357M

Weasle         : Shs650M

Bebe Cool      : Shs670M

Ziza Bafana    : Shs578M

Winnie Nwagi   : Shs380M

Ronald Mayinja : Shs462M

Sofia Nantongo : Shs375M

Chris Evans    : Shs220M

Troops Band Chagga & Henry Tigan: Shs150M

However, many other musicians who are not to benefit from this government cash bonanza have been left disgruntled as they wonder what criteria was followed by the concerned authorities while allocating this money to the beneficiaries.
