The Commander of Land Forces of the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF), Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has lashed out at renegade Gen. David Ssejussa aka Tinyefuza for cooking up the ‘Muhoozi Project’ lies with intent to tarnish his name.

Gen. Muhoozi, who is also the Presidential Advisor on Special Operations, says he had never sought political interests until Tinyefuza attacked him in 2013, by alleging that he was being groomed to take over from his father President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Muhoozi, who is celebrating his 48th birthday, expressed his anger anger against Tinyefuza in a tweet on Saturday when he said thus;

“I never, ever looked for popularity or power. I was content to be a quiet professional officer in PGB/SFC. It was Tinyefuza who attacked me in May of 2013. He was the first person to talk of a ‘Muhoozi Project’. I had never heard of such a thing. The haters helped me get loved!”

It should be recalled that Tinyefuza, who had exiled himself to the United Kingdom, in 2013 wrote a lethal letter in the Daily Monitor, in which he exposed what he called the Muhoozi Project, which he said was a pragmatic and state funded machinery that was aimed at ensuring that Muhoozi succeeds Museveni as president.

Tinyefuza warned in his letter that the machinery behind establishing the Muhoozi Project had been mandated to eliminate all people opposed to the Project, even it meant poisoning, assignations, engineered accidents,  among other ways of elimination.

However, Muhoozi, who has since rubbished Tinyefuza’s wild allegations, contends that all this is hogwash that is meant to soil his name.

It should be noted that although Tinyefuza is no longer a serving officer of the UPDF, his relentless efforts to resign from the army have since been thwarted by government.
