The Commander of Land Forces Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba is slated to travel to Kigali, Rwanda, for another meeting with President Paul Kagame.
Lt. Gen. Muhoozi confirmed the meeting between him and President Kagame on Monday February 28th, 2022 when he tweeted thus;
“After a long discussion with my uncle, President Kagame, this morning we have agreed that I return to Kigali in the coming days to sort out all outstanding issues between Uganda and Rwanda.”
The second meeting between Muhoozi and Kagame comes a month after their first meeting which they held in January this year, which preceded the reopening of Rwanda’s border with Uganda.
The second meeting between Muhoozi and Kagame is aimed further solving the disagreements between the two countries and streamlining the relationships between the two neighbouring states.
It should be noted that a few weeks ago word circulated that President Yoweri Museveni’s brother Gen. Salim Saleh was slated to travel to Kigali for a meeting with Kagame but the Ministry of Foreign Affairs came out and trashed the information as fake news.
It is not is yet clear what is on the agenda of their meeting but we shall bring you all the updates as and when they unfold.
