It is a new dawn for gorgeous actress and model Shanitah Umunyana, who is the reigning Miss Rwanda, after she was crowned Miss East Africa 2021 a few days ago.
Umunyana was crowned Miss East Africa after surpassing the required criteria to win the crown.

Following this victory, she will be representing her motherland country as the Miss East Africa 2021 after she wore the crown during an event that occurred on Friday.
She was competing alongside 16 beauty queens from different East African countries that included; Tanzania, Kenya, Burundi, Uganda, Zambia, Mauritius, Comoros, Seychelles, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Eritrea among other countries.

Before the main event the contestants spent almost a month at boot camp being trained on public speaking and cultural demonstrations and the smart ones have already grabbed the crown from others.
The judges who presided over the event were Jolly Mutesi, who is former Rwanda Queen of runway, Miss Linda and Paul Siniga.
The judges chose the first six contestants from the ones who had matched in front of audience so that they could compete in the next stage.
