City businessman and soccer fanatic Dr Lawrence Mulindwa has appointed his son Steven Mulindwa as the new General Manager for his team Vipers Sports Club.
Mulindwa, who is the Vipers president, appointed his son a day after he had appointed former international Fifa grade referee Charles Masembe as the Club’s new Sporting Director.
Prior to being promoted to the position of General Manager, Steven was the Club’s Logistics Manager Steven Mulindwa.
The promotion came after his satisfactory work as Logistics Manager for the past two years – a position he has faithfully and whose duties he has executed with distinction to-date.
Steven Mulindwa holds a Master’s Degree in International Business and Economics from the University of Surrey in United Kingdom.
He is set assume the new position with his primary role of overseeing the general duties of the club.
Besides that, he will also manage the core research team that will be charged with holding the club vision of becoming the best club on the continent as well as managing institution’s estates.
“I am grateful for the new appointment and with the versatile team we have I know we can support each other to always work and achieve the vision of the club. My office door will always be open for new ideas that we can implement,” Steven said.
Commenting about the appointment, Mulindwa said that; “Our dream is to become a first class footballing club on the continent and we can achieve our goal with the kind of management we are putting in place. Steven is young but visionary and energetic. He can take us miles with his experience.”
