People who get their news via social media will have to be a little more cautious as we we move closer to the voting day.
Almost everyday people with a huge following post a fake document or upload a photo of a prominent person and attach misleading information on it.
Late last year you might have watched a video of a famous vlogger with a cult following who announced that the King of Buganda was dead or read different stories about Bobi Wine being stabbed when he was arrested in Busoga.
Well, last evening netizens were thrown into a frenzy when a photo of a woman with a striking resemblance to Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) stalwart Ingrid Turinawe standing next to men, dressed in National Resistance Movement (NRM) colours, went viral on social media.
Some politically-charged social media users jumped on it and wrote comments insinuating that that the popular FDC supporter who is also a close friend of Dr. Kizza Besigye might be the woman in the photo and that she had crossed to NRM.
Some left comments reminding other users of Mugisha Muntu words about moles.
It should be remembered that at the peak of the FDC presidential campaigns Muntu is remembered to have said time will tell who the mole is.
However, later, FDC supporters came forward and made it clear that the woman in the viral photo is in fact Jane Bainomugisha, the aspiring woman Member of Parliament for Ibanda District.
