Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz, who is socialite Zari Hassan’s baby daddy, has revealed Digital Streaming Platforms pay lucrative money, hence all musicians should embrace them in a bid to cope with the effects of COVID-19 on the music industry.
Speaking during an interview on Tuesday, Diamond urged all artistes to join Apple Music and iTunes to earn a considerable amount of money from their music.
He noted that musicians should stop relying on YouTube since the payments therefrom can’t sustain their kind of lifestyle or meet their very many needs.
“The real money is in Apple Music and iTunes; for example on YouTube by estimation when one gets 1 million views, you’re paid 1m TZ shillings(1.6m UGX) yet with iTunes if you got 1m views they will pay you 2m TZ shillings(3.2m UGX). For Artistes, Apple Music and iTunes are a valuable item.”
He therefore called upon musicians to work hard and reap more from Digital Streaming Platforms since the music industry is paying off well unlike before, when they had to rely on concerts and or bookings to make money.
