Parliament needs family planning, they are becoming too many – Pastor Ssempa
Pastor Martin Ssempa is one those men of God that tries to weigh in on each and every issue in the country be it religious, political, or otherwise.
This morning, Ssempa who is the leader of Makerere Community Church has weighed in on a number of issues while appearing on NTV’s Morning at NTV show, together with Bishop Micheal Kyazze, leader of Omega Healing Centre.
Ssempa said that government should release all political prisoners that were arrested a few weeks to and after the January 14 general elections, and has urged the NUP camp led by their president Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine to concede defeat and let the country move on.
Ssempa also commented on the increasing number of Members of Parliament (MPs) for a small country like Uganda, which is expected to more than 500 after elected MPs swear-in for the 11th parliament in May 2021.
“Parliament needs family planning to have breaks in the number of MPs. They are becoming so many,” Ssempa said.
Putting the big number aside, the outspoken pastor wished they could at least be effective in their performance as Tanzania’s fallen President John Pombe Magufuli did in his short stay in office.
“When you look at Magufuli, he was not so loved, but he united the country and worked for his people. I wish we could do what Magufuli did for Tanzania in five years. I wish I could get Magufuli’s DNA code and inject it in every Member of Parliament so they can do what we want,” Ssempa said.
