The State House Anti-Corruption Taskforce, which is headed by Brig. Gen. Henry Isoke, has arrested Charles Bwiiso, the Masindi Resident State Attorney on allegations of soliciting and receiving a bribe of Shs3m from persons in a case of defilement in order to close the file.
According to sources, Bwiiso was caught red handed receiving a deposit of Shs1.5m from the suspect’s relatives.
However, little did he know that notes given to him had been photocopied by detectives and on receiving the money he was immediately arrested.
By time of filing this story Bwiiso was being taken to Masindi police to be processed for court.
It should be noted that this is one of the many public officials that have been arrested by the State House Ant-Corruption Taskforce.
Bwiiso’s arrest comes a few days after the arrest of Mulago Hospital Executive Director Dr. Baterana Byaruhanga, who was arrested on March 01st, 2022 over allegations of embezzling over Shs28Bn and abuse of office.
Dr. Baterana has since been interdicted by the Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Dr. Diana Atwine as investigations into the allegations continue.
