Sheebah Beats Cindy: Ranks As Best Female Artiste 2020

Songbird Sheebah Karungi has literally beaten  her longtime nemesis Cinderella Sanyu aka Cindy, after ranking high on the music charts in Uganda and across the East African region this year.

Sheebah recently announced the release of her new album ‘Samali’, which features hits like ‘Ninda’, ‘Ekyama’,  ‘Onkuba’ with King Saha, ‘Kyoyina Omanya’ feat. Crysto Panda, and others.

To prove that she is a music brand to reckon with, Swag Mama aka Queen Sheebah was nominated in the Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) in the Best Female Artiste category.

Well, going back to her longtime competitor Cindy, she not only doesn’t have an album for the year 2021 but also doesn’t  appear on the AFRIMA nominations list.

This categorically means that Sheebah orchestrated Uganda’s music over all the continent and the globe, thereby creating a bigger impact on the entertainment scene that is far greater than Cindy perhaps ever will.

It should be noted that Cindy and Sheebah have been engaged in a bitter supremacy war for a very long time, whereby    Cindy contends that she is way bigger by brand and a better musician than Sheebah, although the latter often assures her to let their music speak for themselves.

Their beef reached boiling point last year after Cindy dared Sheebah to a music battle if she claims to be better than her at the game but the battle was never held due to security reasons.

Celebrated singer Cindy Sanyu is lagging behind Sheebah Karungi

Sheebah Karungi (born November 11, 1989) is a Ugandan recording artist, dancer and actress with the defunct Obsessions group, who debuted her acting career in Queen of Katwe as Shakira.

After quitting Obsessions, a dance group she joined in 2006, she rose to recognition upon the release of her hit single “Ice Cream”.

In 2014, she released her debut project Ice Cream, a five-track EP which did well commercially and led her to win back-to-back HiPipo Music Awards Best Female Artiste in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.

She also won the Artiste of the Year award twice, in 2017 and 2018, at the HiPipo Music Awards.
