Untold shock has gripped the people of Kyegegwa District after a man stormed a police station and stoned one of the police officers to death.
The shocking revelation was made by police spokesperson CP Fred Enanga, who said that the deceased police officer was stoned by a mad man identified as Ronald Kyakasolo.
CP Enanga identified the deceased officer as SPC Francis Tindyebwa, who was on duty by the time Kyakasolo invaded the police station and stoned him on the head.
The mad man fled the scene shortly after stoning Tindyebwa but he was later arrested and detained at Kyegegwa police station as the police investigate the matter further.
He will be taken to hospital for a medical checkup to ascertain whether he has a mental problem or not, after which he will be arraigned in court to face murder charges.
We have however learnt that following the attack, Tindyebwa couldn’t be rushed to hospital by fellow cops for immediate medical attention because the ambulance that would have been used is currently nonfunctional after it got involved in a terrible accident some time back and since then it has never been repaired.
The incident comes shortly after a panga-wielding man, identified as Geoffrey Kitaka, said to be man, cut off the Kampala-Masaka Road at Kyengera township, where he injured several people.
The incident ended with three people injured and one dead when Police responded and tried to shoot Kitaka and disarm him.
However, according to his family, Kitaka, of Kagga in Wakiso district, had a long history of mental breakdown.
