Fallen celebrated Gudlyfe musician Moses Sekibogo aka Mowzey Radio’s incomplete mansion in Busambaga-Katabi, Entebbe municipality, is rotting away and has since turned into a den of criminals according to people in the neighbourhood.
It should be noted that prior to his death, Mowzey Radio was constructing a multibillion mansion with apartments in Entebbe.
However, ever since his demise, the site has never been attended to and the shell is soon succumbing to forces of nature.
However, its collapse wouldn’t have been the problem, if the structure had not become a security threat to people living within its vicinity.
This is because most neighbours say thieves, rapists, drug addicts and all sorts of wrong elements have since turned it into their place of abode.
The neighbours also say that apart from the criminals who always hide in Radio’s mansion, wild dogs, cats, snakes have since turned the house into a breeding ground where they enjoy sex marathons unabated.
“Besides the house rotting away because of heavy rains, it has become a hiding place for criminals. Just the other day local authorities were running battles with criminals who hide there,” Asan Mubiru, one of the residents said.
Mubiru noted that apart from Radio’s house becoming a criminal den and security threat, all the builders who were working at the site have spent years without being paid and are demanding their salary arrears, yet Radio’s family has since abandoned the structure and have not visited it for a long time.
Asked whether Radio’s colleague Douglas Mayanja aka Weasel visits the untended to construction site, Mubiru said that “It seems like Weasel died with Radio, because we have never seen him here.”
We have since established that Weasel sold his plot of land which he had bought next to Radio’s incomplete mansion
Mowzey Radio died of head injuries at Case Hospital in Kampala on February 1, 2018, after a brawl at De Bar, a popular hangout in Entebbe Town.
His suspected killer, Godfrey Wamala alias Troy was arrested while in hiding in Kyengera, along the Kampala- Masaka Highway and later in October 2019 sentenced to 13 years imprisonment by the High Court in Entebbe.
