Speaker Kadaga Mourns Pallisa District Woman MP Faith Alupo

The Speaker of Parliament Hon. Rebecca Kadaga has mourned the untimely demise of the Pallisa District Woman Member of Parliament Faith Alupo, who passed away on Tuesday.

In a video shared on her social media platforms, Alupo breathed her last at Mulago Hospital and the Parliamentary Commission is working with the family on the burial arrangements.

“The Speaker informs the House about the passing of Pallisa District MP, Hon Faith Alupo at Mulago Hospital. She says the Parliamentary Commission is working with the family on the burial arrangements.

“On behalf of the Commission, we send our condolences to the family. May her soul rest in eternal peace,” Parliament tweeted minutes go.

Speaker Kadaga tweeted thus; “It’s with sadness that I have learnt of the death of Faith Alupo, Woman Rep. Pallisa District. She joined Parliament in 2018 and was committed to her work. I convey my condolences to her family, the constituency, relatives and friends. May her soul rest in eternal peace.”

Reports, which have not yet been confirmed by the Ministry of Health, indicate that the fallen MP succumbed to COVID-19 because she presented symptoms associated with COVID-19, which included difficulty in breathing.

Alupo has been MP for two years and recently lost in the NRM primaries to Kevin Kaala Ojinga.
