By Our Reporter

Officials at State House, Entebbe, have refuted rumours that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is set to deliver a COVID-19 National address on Tuesday August 25th, 2020.

Word has been circulating on social and in print media that President Museveni will give a national address  to update the country about how far government has reached in fighting the Coronavirus pandemic.

Chief among the issues president Museveni was expected to  address is the pending second lockdown in Kampala Metropolitan Area, which is expected to cover districts of Kampala, Mukono and Wakiso.

However, Don Wanyama, who is the Senior  Presidential Press Secretary, refuted the rumours, saying that President Museveni currently has a very busy schedule, which  doesn’t include a national address about COVID-19.

“We don’t have a scheduled address. Have we put out a notice yet? We are the ones who put out notices,” Wanyama said when contacted for a comment about the matter.
