Derrick Kakoza completed a move a week back to the Belgian outfit Anderlecht. a deal was agreed between the local outfit Police Fc and Anderlecht this information was confirmed by our reporters close to the player.
The money involved is around 17,751,365,000 Ugx, a trusted source has intimated to this website that Kakooza has put pen to paper on a five-year deal. It’s also said the player received 1,065,081,900 Ugx dollars as a sign-on fee.
Derrick came to the limelight with his superb performance with the Uganda Hippos (U20) at the U20 African Cup of Nations in Mauritania.
He finished as the Top Scorer of the Tournament with Five goals in six games, where the Hippos lost to Ghana in the Finals. The lethal striker was named the best for the month of March after a brilliant display at the Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Mauritania.
He has been on the radar of the different clubs on the continent and abroad.
Kakooza grew up in the ranks from Police Armless Brigade, the Junior team for Police FC before getting promoted to the senior team last season.
Kakoza will become the second Ugandan player to play in the Belgium league in recent times, following that Farouk Miya was playing at Standard Liege and Royal Excel Mouscoron.
