City fashion guru Sylvie Owori, who is currently Gen.  Salim Saleh’s Personal Assistant at the Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) Secretariat, literary enjoyed all the limelight when America based Senegalese music icon Aliaume Damala Badara alias Akon flew to Uganda on Wednesday.

It should be noted that Akon had flown into the country to attend president Yoweri Museveni’s inauguration ceremony but for reasons best known to him he didn’t attend the function.

We have since learnt that on realizing that he wouldn’t be in time for the swearing-in ceremony, Owori quickly jumped to Akon’s presence in Uganda like it was a golden opportunity and rode upon it together with others to turn it into an investment opportunity.

So our Moles intimate that shortly after Akon visiting the First Son Lt.  Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Owori decided to fly his wife Rozina Negusei aboard a UPDF chopper to Gulu District, reportedly to discuss investment in tourism projects.

She made it a point to let all and Sundry know about her ventures by tweeting thus shortly before the flight; “On my way to Gulu with @ Akon’s wife Rozina Negusei to discuss her proposed investments. Cultural & creative industries are going to be major drivers of income generation/wealth & job creation & export, earnings for Uganda in the next five years and well after. Work has Started.”

Meanwhile we have also learnt from Moles that Akon and his wife were later treated to a cultural dinner that was hosted by H.E ambassador Abbey Walusimbi.

The dinner, which was partly a business discussion forum, was also graced by the First Daughter Diana Museveni, the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lilly Ajarova, among other Very Important People (VIPs).

In his remarks, Amb. Walusimbi appreciated the President of Uganda for welcoming Akon’s delegation and assigning the Office of the Senior Presidential Advisor on Diaspora to follow-up on possible investment desires by his investors to be established in Uganda.
