Tooro Kingdom’s Ekyooto Ha Mpango Lights Up Fort Portal Tourism City

Throngs of people stormed the annual Tooro Kingdom festival known as Ekyooto Ha Mpango, which was held in Fort Portal tourism city over the weekend.

The festival was officiated over by Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru, who hosted several dignitaries from not only Uganda but also across the world.

The four-day event included several activities that kicked off with Business clinics and an exhibition at Muchwa Venue, with a focus on tourism and hospitality business.

The second day of the event was characterised with a Royal Gala dinner at Nyaika Hotel, which was attended by the A list in the tourism city.

The gala included activities like a fashioned show  that featured top models in the country among them former miss Uganda Sylvia Namutebi Allibhai, Miss Elite Africa Judith Heard, Miss Uganda Earth Ahlam Ismail (Lamu) and many others who showcased traditional fashion styles courtesy of SPK clothing line.

The night was graced by the Queen Mother Best Kemigisa, who also awarded medals to some individuals who featured in the  ‘Rwenzori Mountains of the Moon’ documentary featuring Uganda Tourism Board boss Lilly Ajarova  and Golola Moses.

The night was concluded with a sumptuous dinner that left the invited guests nodding in approval of the organizers.

On the third day other sports activities followed that kicked off with Adventure cycling , marathon and boat competition at the Kazinga Channel adjacent to Mountain of the moon University, among others.

Later in the evening, the night was concluded with a Virtual Music Concert that  featured leading artistes from Tooro region and special guest artistes including Janzi Band, Spice Diana, Aziz Azion, Beenie Gunter, Pearl of Africa Stars, Ayesiga Muzamil, Kigambo Araali,  Tony Blackman and Navio, who entertained revellers at Nyaika hotel  at gig that was attended by Omukama Oyo Nyimba.
