Kampala businessman Rajiv Ruparelia, son of mogul Dr Sudhir Ruparelia, has finally come out to speak about his passion for motor rally and the future of Uganda’s motorsports.
Our Moles reveal that Rajiv, who is one of the celebrated motor rally champions in Uganda, is set reveal all this on Saturday morning at 10:00Am, during the Sanyu FM ‘Sports Unlimited Show’.
We have learnt that Rajiv, who is also the Managing Director of Sanyu FM, will appear on the show together with tycoon Godfrey Kirumira’s son Gideon Kirumira, Clive Kyazze and Daniel Kahiu, who will be chipping about motor rally and other sports in Uganda.
Rajiv, who is also the Managing director of Ruparelia Group of companies, joined motor sport in May last year but has already impressed on the tracks.
He finished second in the National Rally Championship (NRC) and is now setting sights on the Africa Rally Championship (NRC).
“Now I have added one more year to my training and I am planning to upgrade my vehicle from VW Polo Proto to R5 as I target to compete in the ARC, Rajiv noted while speaking at Sanyu FM a few months ago.
“We are targeting South Africans and Kenyans because they have dominated the event. Why is it that it is them winning and not us? I am going to hold the Ugandan flag up in the sky because I am not going there to just participate but rather try to win,” he added.
