Authorities in Canada are investigating circumstances under which a Ugandan woman who was travelling from Uganda back to Toronto collapsed and died at the airport.
According to sources, the woman identified as Olivia Namale, died at the Pearson International Airport in Canada on Tuesday morning.
Namale was wife of Davis Sserwanga, a Ugandan based in Toronto, Canada, where she lives and works together with her family.
It is said that Namale developed sudden health complications and collapsed while at the airport but by the time medics got to her, she had already died.
Although what caused her death is not yet clear pending a postmortem report, Namale reportedly died of a heart attack.
However, her husband Sserwanga told close family members that Namale was healthy and well when she left Entebbe on Monday evening!!
We have since learnt that Namale was Busiro South Member of Parliament Medard Lubega Ssegona’s niece and shortly after receiving news of her demise he wrote thus on social media; “With sadness, I announce the passing of my niece, daughter and friend, Olivia Namale Nalongo who died in Canada this last evening.”
