Vipers Sign Two-Year Sponsorship Deal With Plascon Worth Shs400m

Uganda Premier League (UPL) defending champions Sports Club Vipers continue to attract big money sponsorship deals. On top of Hima Cement and DFCU, Viopers have today unveiled a new sponsorship deal with paint manufacturers Plascon Limited worth Shs400 million.

The deal will run for two years, and it will see Vipers donning jerseys with Plascons brand name at the back starting with their match on Wednesday this week against Bright Stars FC at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende, Wakiso district.

“Today, we are delighted to announce a two-year sponsorship deal for reigning Uganda Premier League Champions Vipers SC. This makes Plascon the official paint partner for the Venoms. Starting with their Wednesday home fixture against Bright Stars FC, the #PlasconVenoms will be wearing their new kit with Plascon Branding at the back,” Plascon excitedly shared the news on their Twitter page.

Speaking about the deal, Plascon Managing Director Santosh Gumte said that this move is the continuation of the company’s culture of investing in sports, and that they appreciate Vipers’ ambition.

“To us, this is a continuation of the culture of investing in sports and we are very proud to partner with a brand and club of Vipers stature. We appreciate the ambition of the club, a virtue that is mutual to Plascon,” Gumte said.

He added, “Like Vipers SC, Plascon is a relatively new name on the Ugandan market in spite of having been in operation for years. Our ambition is to remain the number one paint solutions provider in the country, region, and continent.

Vipers President Dr Lawrence Mulindwa attributed the club’s ability to attract lucrative sponsorship deals to the great team at the club, and pledged to make the sponsorship make economic sense to the sponsor that is Plascon.

“Every sponsorship announcement is an affirmation of the great team we have; from the grounds-men, players and administrative arm. It takes a highly innovative team to attract the brand like Plascon.

“This only marks the beginning of a journey that has to make economic sense for Plascon if we are to turn one year into a lifetime partnership. That’s our pledge to all our partners and it’s the pledge we are making to Plascon,” Dr Mulindwa said.

Vipers SC have won four UPL trophies, the most recent being last season’s that was ended prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
