The Vice President H.E Edward Ssekandi on Thursday paid a glowing tribute to Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho aka Salim Saleh’s departed wife Harriet Aber, when he visited his home in Gulu District.
Gen. Salim Saleh, who is the National Coordinator for Operation Wealth Creation, lost his wife Aber last week after she succumbed to a blood clot in the intestines.

Nine days after her demise, Ssekandi, who didn’t attend the funeral because of his tight schedule, decided to visit Gen. Saleh at his home convey his condolences.
Ssekandi, who is also the Member of Parliament for Bukoto Central, apologised not attending the funeral, saying he couldn’t make it because he was busy with the recently concluded National Resistance Movement (NRM) primaries.
The 78-year-old veteran politician expressed optimism that time the deceased spent with her children will always have a great influence in their lives.

In his eulogy Ssekandi said that “Aber was not only a mother but a chief mobilizer of NRM and agent of peace a prosperity in Northern Uganda.”
Stanley Nahurira, 11, on behalf of his siblings Tyra Aruho and Christiane Nyikirize, said that losing a parent was very painful but that they were now strong because of people who have prayed for and supporter them during this difficult time.
The deceased’s mother Rose Nyeko, said her daughter Aber was exemplary among all her other children.
