The Hollywood & African Prestigious Awards (HAPA awards), a ceremony that celebrates outstanding achievements of African and American artistes in various entertainment genres, with a vision to blend cultures, promote the beauty and richness of Africa and America, while spreading peace throughout the world, is returning this weekend for the fourth edition.
Although there is no Ugandan artiste nominated, Ugandans can take pride in the fact that South Africa based Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan aka Bosslady will represent Uganda as the night’s co-host with comedian Michael Blackson.
“Counting down to this Sunday, October 18, 2020 as I co-host the HAPAWARDS alongside comedian Michael Blackson where we will honour American and African community leaders, international political figures, dignitaries, celebrities and stars who are pioneers in motion pictures, arts, music, comedy and fashion,” the excited socialite posted on her Instagram page.
This year’s theme is “I Am Because We Are One” and the show will take on the new normal of being a virtual event due to COVID-19 pandemic. The event will be streamed live on Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire, and on the HAPAwards official website.
We hope Zari does not run into chaos with her co-host the way she did during the Miss Uganda grand finale last year in Kampala with her nemesis Anita Kyarimpa aka Fabiola.
