Most people have heard of Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz, who is also Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan’s baby daddy.
However, what they might not be familiar with is the business side of his career and how much he bags at the end of each month.
Recently, while appearing on his Wasafi FM, the 31-year-old gave fans an insight into his business empire when he revealed how much he earns in advertising deals alone.
“As for my endorsement deals and advertising business on social media, I get paid over 55 million shillings a week, which is over 200 million shillings a month. And soon I will be making more because I just signed a deal for the same with yet another company.”
It should be noted that 200 Tanzanian million shillings is equivalent to Shs317.9 million.
Besides being a musician and father of many kids from various women, Diamond, who last year became the first sub-Saharan African singer to get one billion views on YouTube, owns Wasafi TV and Wasafi FM among other properties.
To understand what it means to have a billion views, one has to know that YouTube channel creators are paid about $3,000 for one million views.
